Banksia grandis

This banksia is a tree growing to 10m tall. The trunk is grey and can be gnarled and crooked. The yellow flowers occur in spring and summer and can grow to 35cm long. The leaves also proved interest as the are large triangle lobes growing up to 45cm long. The birds are attracted to the flowers for the nectar.
